Yes, Chef..!!

Lately I watched lots of cooking shows on TV. Top Chef, E&O Search for AFC's Next Celebrity Chefs, Malaysian MasterChef, The Restaurant Adventures of Caroline and Dave, Taste of Indonesia, so on and so on. Oh there's also Cooking Musical on air now, right?

There's also programs that brought cooking-from-your-home to be aired on tv. I mean the cooking of unprofessional ones, like The Dinner Party Wars, which I'm watching rite now.

I don't know whether this is its airing time or I'm watching a rewind, but the program is quite refreshing, and funny.

It was about three pairs (husband n wife) of ordinary citizens who taking turn played host and serve dinner for other pairs. Starting form appetizer , main course and dessert, the pair will be given a few hours to prepare their dishes, before two other pairs came to have dinner together. While serving dinner to their guest, they have to make their new meet guests feel comfortable as if they have known each other for a long time. So the challenge is there. i mean, it is hard to make a lively dinner with strangers while u're busy preparing dishes. The pairs will be judged based on their work team with their partner, their dishes; taste and presentation, and the ability to maintain as a good host while the dinner last. The judges were the hosts of this program. and they have a fun time watching and criticizing the pairs. Interesting.

There's also another cooking show that i happened to catch. The Boss. The big bald chef Bruce hosted this show with his hip hop style, showing us all the recipes that looked as if it was easy and simple to serve. True to its name, The Boss really bossing around his two co-aides. This show was not as friendly as Jamie Oliver's, if u ask me. but it was a good show.

And the cooking programs that really excites me? The Top Chef, then. and E&O Search for AFC's Next Celebrity Chefs, now. Actually these two shows have some similarities, but the E&O judgement was more brutal and harsh. Flying dishes and plates, shouting and yelling, not to mention battered egos and crashed dreams. Chef Saxon, Chef Bruce and Chef Wan were really really really cruel to the contestants.[of course commercial elements was added there, i guess.]

Dunno what i'm talking bout? catch it on wed nite 10pm on astro 703. rewind: sun at 9pm..happy watching!

I don't need any chef's comments to know this asam gumpal is reallyyyy delicious! (drooling!!)
